The Great
River Ramble is Coming! Saturday, September 24,
2005 A fundraising walk-a-thon celebrating 10 years of Great River GreeningPicture a
beautiful, crisp autumn morning for a walk along Shepard Road and through
Crosby Park, one of the river’s hidden jewels, where Greening staff will
open your eyes to its plant life. At the end of the walk, a family party
sponsored by Brighton Development Corporation, Summit Brewery and City of
St. Paul Division of Parks and Recreation will delight you with luncheon
refreshments, landscaping advice for your home and information about all
the economic and recreational opportunities along this beautiful river.
Here’s the schedule for the Great River
Ramble: 9:30 – 10
a.m.
Check-in – time to turn in the donations you’ve collected for Great
River Greening! 10 a.m. – 12
p.m.
Ramble to Crosby Park and back (approx. 5
miles) 12 – 1:30 p.m. Celebration luncheon – time to celebrate 10 years of Greening! There will be grand prizes for both the top fundraiser and the person who gets the highest number of donors. In addition, the next ten highest fundraisers will receive prizes and every participant will receive a Great River Ramble t-shirt! (Tips and ideas in the Great River Ramble Information Kit can help you raise that amount and more!) The Great River Ramble promises to be a great celebration for everyone – please join us on Saturday, September 24th for this truly special event! It’s easy to get started – just go to our website (www.greatrivergreening.org), download the Great River Ramble registration form and mail it back to us with your registration fees (to help cover expenses). Then print out the Great River Ramble Information Kit from our website and you’ll have everything you need! It’s that simple, but don’t delay – registration closes on September 14th.
