Thank You!
December 7, 2009
To Partners and Friends of Great River Greening:
From all of us at Greening we want to say thank you during this holiday season to our volunteers for their gift of helping to restore our natural spaces; our individual, corporate, foundation, and government donors for providing the financial ability to carry out our mission and inspire environmental stewardship; and our public and private clients and partners for presenting challenges to bring ecological balance to our forests, prairies, and wetlands.
Through Greening’s history you have planted over 58,000 trees, 174,000 native plants and grasses, and removed over 950 acres of buckthorn. Whether you are a volunteer, donor, or partner know that you have impacted the lives of countless thousands and preserved our natural heritage for generations to come. What a wonderful legacy! As 2009 draws to a close, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a prosperous new year!
You Can Help!
We are writing to you today about a special gift and a special challenge. Great River Greening has been offered a challenge by the McKnight Foundation. Every new and increased gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar. Making a difference for our local community has never been more important or more compelling. When you support Great River Greening with this challenge, you will be helping us to expand a new program like the Natural Areas Teen Network.
Many of you have responded to our fall appeal; for others this e-mail and your gift are crossing in the mail; and we thank you. Others are still deciding upon their gift. We know that you are interested in our natural heritage, and we are offering an easy way for you to give. Simply go to our website www.greatrivergreening.org and donate through Charity Box. You can give either a one time gift or pledge a monthly gift utilizing your credit card. Should you prefer you can also donate by mail.
In today's uncertain economic climate, we know you are carefully prioritizing what causes you'll be able to support with your charitable contributions this year. There is no more essential investment to be made than one in our children and their environment. We and our young people whose heritage and future depend upon us thank you! And just in time for the holidays, any new gift will receive our collection of native plants note cards.
