Internships at Greening!
Greening works with unpaid undergraduate office interns and
paid graduate ecological interns on an as-needed basis.
Everyone Benefits
Each semester, Great River Greening offers internship opportunities to undergraduate students on an as needed basis. Great River Greening will work with interns to identify their interests, and make sure that the internship experience is mutually beneficial. Great River Greening accepts applications from any student currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. Join the Great River Greening team and start making a difference in your community, while gaining valuable experience and making connections for the future!
The following are basic guidelines for Great River Greening’s internship program, but each position changes slightly to match the interests of our interns.
Marketing/Social Networking Intern - For Spring 2010
The social networking intern will work with social networking media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flicker and YouTube to bring greater awareness of Great River Greening to people using these media. Interns in this position will have similar goals as those in the marketing and community outreach positions but they will reach their goals via social networking instead of more traditional methods. Past projects have included establishing Great River Greening on Twitter, engaging youth participating in the Million Acorn Challenge through Facebook, and developing a professional network via LinkedIn.
Marketing/Special Events Intern
The Marketing/Special Events intern will help Greening engage new community members in projects. They will be responsible for volunteer recruiting, researching communities for volunteer prospects and assisting the Volunteer Program and Event Manager in event details.
