SAINT PAUL'S SHEPARD ROAD - NATIVE TREE PLANTING
In spring 2001, GRG, the city of Saint Paul Public Works Department and the Division of Parks and Recreation, along with Xcel Energy and 500 volunteers, planted 2,500 native trees and shrubs along the new Shepard Road. This planting adds floodplain tree canopy cover for migrating birds and provides other aesthetic and environmental benefits along the river in the heart of Saint Paul.
Funded in part by the
Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund, as recommended by the
Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources.
