Xcel Energy-Native Tree Planting
More than 1,000 volunteers worked with Xcel Energy and Greening to plant a forest of 7,000 trees and shrubs on the site of a former coal yard next to the High Bridge Power Plant during Greening's largest-ever event. Greening is continuing to help Xcel care for this forest as the trees mature and add ecological and aesthetic value to the downtown Saint Paul stretch of the Mississippi River greenway.
