The 7th annual Great River Greening Business Forum will explore the challenges and opportunities of doing business as our community’s – and the world’s – demographic trends continue to shift, putting increasing demands on critical resources, specifically food, water and energy.
Past Business Forums have explored these issues in isolation. At the 2014 Business Forum, Pentair Chairman and CEO Randall J. Hogan will share his perspective for opportunities where the three intersect: managing water resources to grow food and generate energy, as well as maximizing energy to move and treat water and process food. Great River Greening, a state leader in natural resource restoration, hosts the Business Forum to reinforce the connection between a healthy economy and a healthy environment.
Now in its seventh year, the annual event has built a reputation among professionals as an engaging event where colleagues converge on important environmental topics facing our community. Last year, more than 300 business professionals and community leaders attended and connected with peers to discuss the future of water scarcity with Ecolab CEO Doug Baker. The year before, guests discussed the future of food production with Land O’Lakes president and CEO Chris Policinski. Great River Greening has no political agenda, but instead leads on-the-ground partnerships with communities and businesses to make tangible improvements to our lands and waters.
Chairman and CEO of Pentair Randall J. Hogan has led Pentair as chief executive officer since 2001, and was appointed chairman in 2002. With approximately $7.5 billion in annual sales and 30,000 employees, Pentair is a global water, fluid, thermal management, and equipment protection partner. Approximately 75 percent of its products, services and technologies are related to food, water and energy.
