Great River Greening presents the Sixth Annual Business Forum
Doug Baker, CEO of Ecolab, will present “Navigating Our Water Future: A Course for Industry”, followed by a Q&A moderated by acclaimed business journalist Chris Farrell.
Friday, October 11, 2013
7:30 – 9:15 a.m.
Minnesota Valley Country Club
Great River Greening hosts the Business Forum to reinforce the connection between a healthy economy and a healthy environment. Now in its sixth year, the annual event has built a reputation among professionals as an engaging event where colleagues converge on important environmental topics facing our community. Last year, 300 business professionals and community leaders attended.
This year’s event will explore water use with Minneapolis Saint Paul Business Journal’s Executive of the Year Doug Baker and award winning and widely acclaimed author Farrell.
Companies are setting water goals, deploying technology and innovation, and measuring progress. But is that enough? The Business Forum will provide ample time for discussion about business’s options for responding to water use and demand, which the World Bank predicts will exceed supply by 50% by 2025.
“Water is inherently local, and industry must know their local watersheds and partner with others who use those watersheds to protect the resource.” Doug Baker
Chairman and CEO of Ecolab Inc.
Ecolab is the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources. Baker was named Ecolab’s president and chief executive officer in July 2004, and in May 2006, added chairman of the board to his duties.
The Minneapolis St. Paul Business Journal named Baker the 2013 Executive of the Year, and in 2012, Baker was inducted into the Minnesota Business Hall of Fame. In addition to his Ecolab responsibilities, Baker serves on the board of directors of U.S. Bancorp and Target Corporation.
