Our prairies and savannas co-evolved with grazing and browsing animals, and science is showing that our native plants benefit from grazing when done right. Mimicking our vast roaming bison and elk herds of the past has a multitude of benefits for our grassland ecosystems, however implementation has a number of challenges unique to the metro area, but the benefits are many.
