Xcel Energy Day of Caring
Ike’s Creek, Bloomington, MN
Saturday, September 7th
8:00am – 11:00am
15 restoration volunteers needed!
Join Xcel employees and their families for the Xcel Energy Day of Caring at Ike’s Creek in Bloomington. Ike’s Creek is one of only six trout streams in the Twin Cities Metro area and is adjacent to the largest urban National Wildlife Refuge in the country, the Minnesota Valley NWR. The stream hosts a restored native Minnesota brook trout population. Volunteers will help restore shoreline and woodland areas along Ike’s Creek by removing buckthorn and planting native woodland plants.
Please note a light continental breakfast will be served, but lunch will not be served at this event. Volunteers should plan to arrive at 7:45am for registration.
A project of our Metro Area Program. This project is made possible with support from the US Fish and Wildlife Service, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, Izaak Walton League, Trout Unlimited, and the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund.
Registration is closed for this event.
