St. Peter Wildflower Planting, October 8

Sat, October 08
9:00 am - 1:00 pm
St. Peter Farm Site - St. Peter

Volunteers Needed: 30
Supervisors Needed: 3

Join Great River Greening on a conservation-conscious family farm to convert previously cultivated land into native prairie. This farm family grows corn and soybeans on 2100 acres using strip- and no-till practices, cover crops, and has enrolled 150 acres in the Conservation Reserve Program! Volunteers at this event will plant a rich mixture of native wildflowers, which will benefit soil health and water quality and increase habitat for pollinators and wildlife in the Seven Mile Creek watershed. This event will be great for the kids!

This project is made possible with support from the Mogensen Family Farm, Seven Mile Creek residents and farmers, Nicollet County Pheasants Forever, Minnesota Outdoor Heritage Fund, Nicollet Soil and Water Conservation District, Board of Water and Soil Resources, Bush Foundation, AgriBank, CHS Foundation, ClifBar Family Foundation, Rahr Corporation, and the McKnight Foundation.
