About the Event
When: Wednesday, May 1, 1:00pm to 3:30pm
Where: Valley Park, Mendota Heights
Volunteers needed: 15
Join this event at Valley Park to plant wildflowers and grasses to provide habitat and forage for pollinators and other wildlife within the park.
Valley Park is a 94-acre city park stretched out along Valley Creek, which feeds the Mississippi River. Valley Park’s mature and diverse vegetation and undulating terrain and trail linkages offer an outstanding opportunity for nature walks and bicycle tours connecting to the Big Rivers Regional Trail. Work at this site will help improve areas of the park where more native plant diversity remains and connections to the Mississippi River and flyways are critical.
