SAINT PAUL, MINN. (August 5, 2019) — Great River Greening, Minnesota’s leader in community based environmental restoration, announced today that Keith Parker will join the organization as its new Executive Director. Parker joins Great River Greening with more than 20 years of experience in management, communications, external partner relations and environmental stewardship.
Parker most recently served as the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Central Minnesota Regional Director where he has been since 2011. While at the DNR, he was responsible for leading the activities of the regional team, including implementation of the “Conservation That Works” strategic plan. Prior to that position, Parker spent 11 years at Twin Cities Public Television where he held several positions including Director of Partnerships and Director of Production Operations. Keith also brings a thorough appreciation of the need for strong organizational governance from his eight year involvement with the Minnesota Council of Non-Profits, including four years as Chair.
“We are excited to welcome Keith to Great River Greening as our next Executive Director,” said Board Chair Dick Barnes. “His unique mix of for profit, not for profit, and governmental natural resources experience, along with a deep commitment to the conservation mission of Great River Greening, make him the right leader at the right time.”
Added Keith Parker, “I am humbled and thrilled to be selected as Great River Greening’s next Executive Director. I look forward to working closely with the organization’s talented staff in continuing the important and vital work of conserving and restoring Minnesota’s rich heritage of natural resources.”
Parker will begin his new role September 3.
