2021 Annual Report

What a year 2021 was!

In 2021 Great River Greening’s mission was never more alive across the state of Minnesota. Our land and water restoration efforts across the state transformed natural areas into beautiful, healthy places to explore nature.

But our work does more than improve outdoor places. Healthy, resilient natural areas are a powerful tool in the fight against climate change. Prairies, forests, and wetlands trap and store excess carbon that would otherwise threaten our delicate ecosystem. The result? Lower greenhouse gas emissions, cleaner air and water, and overall improved quality of life.

And our successes are because of you.

Side by side, we have planted, seeded, and restored more than 4,000 acres of Minnesota’s threatened natural landscapes, all thanks to our volunteers, donors, and sponsors.

Your generosity and partnership is a powerful resource, directly responsible for deeper community engagement and enriched habitats throughout the state.

Those who came before made it possible for us to enjoy the beauty of Minnesota’s great outdoors. As we look ahead, we see renewed appreciation for our parks, trails, waterways and prairies as we look to mitigate the effects of climate change in our community.

The beauty and wonder we experience outside can be preserved with your partnership.

Thank you for supporting us in this work!
