Bass Lake Preserve

General Info

Great River Greening works to engage volunteers in the restoration of public spaces in Minnesota. Our project focuses on restoring Bass Lake Preserve into healthy, resilient habitat that supports wildlife and strengthens the ecosystem. This includes removing invasive woody plants, like buckthorn and honeysuckle, using a variety of management techniques.

Updates & Project Timeline

2022-2023: Crews will be working throughout the next year to remove invasive buckthorn and honeysuckle from the City-owned land surrounding Bass Lake. Crews will use removal techniques including the following:

  • Cutting and hauling away material

  • Brush mowing
