Highland High School Students at Pickerel Lake

From Great River Greening’s Amy Kilgore:

This week, we partnered with Wilderness Inquiry to work with a group of 42 students from Highland High School.

Students immersed themselves in nature through activities, rotating from a canoe paddle on Pickerel Lake with Wilderness Inquiry, to a floodplain forest ecology tour, a pollinator scavenger hunt, and a restoration unit focused on the identification and removal of invasive species.

Greening

Minnesota’s leader in nature-based climate solutions through land restoration. We use science-based best practices to restore and sustainably manage over 10,000 acres of land each year.
