kcowdin@greatrivergreening.org

Kristy Cowdin is the project manager for the Southern MN region, starting with Great River Greening as an ecologist in early 2023. She joined us with nearly 25 years of experience on private and public lands with ecological restoration and management, easement and fee title land acquisition, wetland restoration,  and wetland regulation. Her experience working in state and local government, tribal and non-profits has provided a wide range of perspectives on land protection and management.

As project manager, Kristy works to develop and maintain partnerships with various governmental and non-profit organizations to enhance habitat and engage the public in learning about natural resources. Kristy has been instrumental in expanding the impact of Great River Greening’s mission in southern MN with the addition of new partners and geographical areas.

In her free time, Kristy is an avid potter, wildlife watcher, chef want-to-be, and gardener. She spends time making memories with her children. Her passion for natural resources is infectious, which she loves sharing with others.

Kristy holds a BS of Fisheries and Wildlife Management from Lake Superior State University in the amazing Upper Peninsula (Sault Ste. Marie, MI).
