Kateri Routh assumed the role of Executive Director at Great River Greening in May 2022, following her interim leadership starting in November 2021. A seasoned professional with two decades of experience in the nonprofit sector, Kateri has played a pivotal role in shaping the organization's trajectory since joining as Director of Finance & Administration in 2019.
In her current capacity, Kateri spearheads the organization's strategic initiatives, including the development and launch of Great River Greening’s ambitious Vision for 2030: healthy, climate change resilient ecosystems throughout the entire State of Minnesota. Kateri holds a Master's Degree in Public Services Management from DePaul University and a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from the University of Iowa. Her diverse skill set encompasses partnership and community building, strategic planning, program development, and fundraising.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Kateri is an avid birder who finds joy in nature. When not actively engaged in Great River Greening projects alongside volunteers throughout Minnesota, she can be found in St. Paul, tending to her native garden or embarking on hiking adventures with her two children and husband. Kateri's passion for environmental stewardship extends beyond her role, embodying a commitment to building resilient and thriving ecosystems for the benefit of current and future generations.
